How to interpret these counts: This is a timely public-source monitoring pilot maintained with the Water Safety Council of Fresno County. It uses reviewed news reporting, public agency releases, park and lifeguard information, and other traceable public sources to identify reported drowning and water-related incidents. It is not an official or complete surveillance registry and does not include confidential hospital, EMS, dispatch, or medical-record data. Later coroner, medical examiner, or agency findings are used to reconcile records when they become publicly available. County counts reflect differences in public reporting and source coverage; they are not county drowning rates, complete incident totals, or comparisons of agency performance. Use the linked source details in the incident table to review the underlying public report.
